From budget-friendly Italian or English inspired greenery to an update on formal monochrome (Spoiler alert! It involves glittery gold!), wedding colour schemes for 2016/2017 are chic, sophisticated, fresh and completely fabulous ! The color that will be trending in 2017, “greenery” signifies a fresh new year, healthier food resolutions and growing vegetarian trends, according to the Pantone Color Institute.
A greenery theme can be integrated in to every part of the Big Day from invites to bouquets to the cake! Bouquets consisting of eucalyptus and simple white flowers will be a clean and fresh addition to the bride’s and bridesmaids’ looks, while garlands of greenery can be placed everywhere from archways to chair backs and even table runners for a romantic, organic feel.
Purple has always been a popular colour for weddings because of its regal, timeless feel but this is the year to mix up your shades and make it all the more modern. It’s fairly easy to integrate purple into wedding decor, and bridesmaid dresses take care of themselves, but take it up a notch by serving beautiful berry cocktails and topping your wedding cake with a mixture of fresh berries to really make your theme stand out.
Will you be the first bride to pick this color scheme? What color combo are you using for your wedding?
Customized wedding signs are trending right now in 2015 and I think they are just fabulous. I love them.
Couples can express some of their thoughts and sentiments and have fun with their guests by getting customized wedding signs made for their wedding.
We did a couple of signs for a wedding in Ocho Rios recently and it was a big hit. Please see below:

Floral prints are in for this wedding season and its definitely evident in the dresses available on the racks in the stores. Wedding guests have a large array of dresses to choose from to show their flower power style. The good news is there’s more than one way to wear florals this summer. It seems there are NO RULES when is comes to to floral prints but I can think of a couple. Flower power is fun and makes you look and feel great. When wearing floral to a formal event such as a wedding please note the following:
- Keep it simple.
- Do not over accessorize.
Below are examples of some flower power prints I just love for persons attending weddings this season as a guest:

I did a post a few years ago Peacock Feathers All The Rage and at that time we were getting alot of requests to incorporate peacock feathers in wedding decor. Guess what, a few years later and we are still getting alot of requests to incorporate peacock feathers into our clients wedding decor.
There is a certain fascination with the Peacock. Understandably its a gorgeous creature and thus wanting is incorporate something so fascinating and beautiful into ones wedding is only natural.
Below is one way in which one of our clients with our help incorporated the peacock feathers and its colors into her destination wedding in Jamaica:
We used blue colored water for the wedding centerpiece containers to replicate the peacock’s blue color
We also used blue in the lighting for the wedding reception as well as on some of the linens on the tables
Feathers were incorporated in the ceremony pews as well as on the menu cards
The colors of the peacock were incorporated in all the table pieces and wedding accessories
Lanterns are being requested for weddings this year and next year for weddings in Jamaica. Choosing lanterns for your wedding decor is not only hot right now but it can also be budget friendly.
Many brides are opting for their wedding decor to replace traditional flowers with lanterns or some trying to incorporate them with their preferred wedding flower.
Here are some ways to incorporate lanterns into your wedding decor:
Lanterns as aisle markers for your wedding as shown above and below (picture from society weddings)
Lanterns as wedding centerpieces or incorporated into your wedding centerpiece as shown below
Lanterns can be used at your wedding on important tables such as escort and entrance tables as shown below
We actually used lanterns on a guest signing table for a wedding we did last year please see picture below
Lanterns can be wonderful decor items for your weddings. Incorporating lanterns in your wedding can also add additional romance and candlelight to important areas of your wedding decor. So go ahead and give it a try.
